The MC4-Evo2A is Staubli's current-generation PV connector, approved to 1500V DC under IEC, JET and UL and rated up to 53A on 6mm² cable (IEC) or 50A on 10AWG (UL), with a cable outer diameter range of 4.7-6.4mm. MULTILAM contact technology keeps contact resistance below 0.2mΩ for the life of the connection, and mated connectors hold IP65/IP68 for one metre submersion over 168 hours, so the connector tolerates standing water on flat and low-pitch PV arrays. The operating range spans -40°C to +85°C. A dedicated MC4-Evo2 crimping tool is required for assembly; standard MC4 tools are not compatible with this connector generation.
