The SolarEdge S1400 is a commercial power optimiser that connects to two PV modules in series and tracks the maximum power point at module level. This is the short input option, with 0.1 m input leads and MC4 connectors on both input and output. It is rated for 1400 W of input power and, according to SolarEdge, supports high-power modules up to 700 W and 20 A, including bifacial modules. SafeDC reduces DC voltage to a touch-safe level when the grid or inverter shuts down, and Sense Connect monitors the connectors for overheating. SolarEdge designs it to pair with commercial inverters that have no integrated DC fuses. Maximum efficiency is 99.5%, the housing is IP68 rated, and the optimiser carries a 25-year warranty.
