The SolarEdge SE-AC-SPD-SM is a plug-in AC surge protection device for SolarEdge three-phase inverters fitted with Synergy Technology and SetApp configuration (SExxK-xxxxIBxx4). It protects the inverter's AC power lines from transient surges such as lightning strikes and over-voltage events. The unit is compact (86 x 53 x 30mm), rated for a maximum operating voltage of 320V with a nominal discharge current of 10kA and a maximum discharge current of 22kA (8/20us waveform). It fits inside the inverter enclosure, giving an IP65 protection rating once installed, and is field-replaceable without rewiring the inverter. The inverter's monitoring platform generates an alert when the device needs replacing. It is certified to IEC 61643-11/31 Type 2 and UL 1449 4th edition Type 1CA, and operates across -40 to +85 degC.
