The SolarEdge S650A is a residential power optimiser designed for short strings on small or multi-faceted roofs. Its output voltage reaches 110 V and a string can be as short as 10 optimisers, with parallel strings of different lengths or orientations allowed. It accepts modules up to 650 W with a short-circuit current up to 15 A, including high-power and bifacial modules, and reaches 99.5% maximum efficiency. The S650A works only with SolarEdge Home Wave and Home Hub three-phase inverters on a 230/400V grid, from firmware 4.23.XX, and must not be mixed with any other power optimiser on the same inverter. SafeDC provides module-level voltage shutdown for installer and firefighter safety, and Sense Connect is designed to detect potential arcs at the connectors, subject to inverter model and firmware.
